Department of Dairy Technology being pioneer in offering dairy technology degree program aspire to provide quality education and training for development of well skilled manpower. Department has stimulating and conducive learning atmosphere with intellectual and technological tools necessary to meet the global challenges in the discipline for the benefit of our society and economic uplift of our country. The motto of department is ‘learn today, do tomorrow’. Highly motivated and professionally skilled faculty fortitudes to keep the pace of growth of department in skyward direction. Department of Dairy Technology has well equipped laboratories with modern equipment to fulfill experimental and research needs of graduate students. The department has established dairy training centre to impart training to professionals, dairy industries personals and other stakeholders. Department is equipped with its own library having latest books on various disciplines of dairy technology, food science and dairy microbiology.

Mission of Project

To give every participant new skills and a unique training experience, through concept of “Learning by Doing”. In this way, Department of Dairy Technology aims to further expand and strengthen its position in hands on learning. Department also shares its knowledge and expertise with a wide range of partners from research and business field as well.

Scope of Training

Currently our small-scale processors needs modern processing technologies practiced internationally to enhance productivity and quality. This project will intervene to train the personals on those international standards with better quality characteristics.

  • Efficient Milking Practices,
  • Milk Storage and Transportation
  • Traceability status of the Milk and value-added dairy products throughout chain
  • Food Safety systems at milk processing plant as per international standards
  • Pasteurized Milk Technologies
  • Capacity building on fermented milk products
  • Manufacturing of Flavored Milk
  • Hands on Training for Cheddar Cheese, Mozzarella and Cream cheese
  • Hands on Training on frozen dairy products
  • Learning skills on Fat based products
  • Laboratory Analysis skills
  • Intervention in consumer awareness on quality and grading of dairy products

Target Audience

The target group is the (future) middle level staff of organizations operating in the dairy sector and related areas. The trainees will be selected from different cities of Punjab.
