Dr. Mubbashar Hassan is working as Lecturer (Theriogenology) at Department of Clinical Sciences, Jhang Campus, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan since December 2016. Dr. Mubbashar graduated in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2011 and received M.Phil in Theriogenology (Animal Reproduction) in 2014. His research work during M.Phil was “Comparison of synchronization protocols on estrus, follicular dynamics, ovulation time and conception rate in Sahiwal cows”. He completed his Ph.D in Theriogenology in 2018 and worked on most recent and novel technique called as Doppler ultrasonography. He is the first Pakistani veterinarian who worked and standardized this technique in Sahiwal cows. Dr. Mubbashar earned ‘Research Fellowship’ at University of Zurich, Switzerland through Swiss Govt. Excellence Program for one year (2017-18). He got training on Laparoscopic AI in small ruminants and Doppler ultrasonography from Adnan Menderes University, Turkey. He got a chance to work at Lewitz Stud Germany which is among the largest studs in Europe and got hands on training in AI, Embryo Transfer, Uterine Biopsy sampling technique in equine. Before this he worked as ‘Research Assistant’ and ‘Research Fellow’ in ALP/PARC funded project on ‘Improving reproductive efficiency of Sahiwal and Cholistani cows through estrus synchronization and timed artificial insemination (Punjab component)’ at Department of Theriogenology UVAS, Lahore for three years. He also worked as ‘Farm Consultant’ at Supreme and Barkat Dairies before he joined the academia. His research interests are improving fertility through synchronization and re-synchronization of estrus and ovulation. His fundamental expertise is in the field of Animal Reproduction, B-Mode, Doppler and 3-D ultrasonography in bovines and equines. Besides, other interest area is diagnosis, treatment of diseases and common reproductive problems in diary and farm animals. His main responsibilities are teaching of Theriogenology courses, clinical case handling, research and providing extension services to livestock farmers. He is author of several research publications in high impact factor journals and conference proceedings.
