Biography
Ms. Fizza Karamat, is a lecturer of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS), University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. She holds Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D) degree and Masters of Philosophy (M. Phil) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from University College of Pharmacy, University of the Punjab, Lahore. During her M. Phil research, she developed the novel method for Simultaneous quantification of Ceftriaxone sodium (Anti-biotic) in combination with Steroids.
She started her professional career with a world renowned Pharmaceutical company, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Pakistan as a Product Specialist in Oncology Specialty and served there for almost 8 months. She was the subject matter expert and assimilated knowledge regarding product line's technical specifications and functions.
She served University College of Pharmacy, University of the Punjab, as demonstrator for 1 year. She was dynamically involved in teaching basic lab skills to the undergraduate Pharmacy students, especially in the subject of pharmaceutical chemistry.
She was appointed as lecturer in Institute of Pharmaceutical sciences w. e. f., October 1st, 2013. She has been involved in mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students and has been managing them not only to the basic theory and practical subjects of pharmacy but has also been aligning them to international latest research trends in the domain of Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

- Teaching and research in pharmacy subjects especially Pharmaceutical chemistry, Analytical chemistry and instrumentation.
- Separation of mixture of drug by using TLC-UV/Visible Spectroscopy.
- Stability Studies of drugs
- Quantification of drugs using HPLC.
- Stability Indicating Assays of drugs
