  Introduction

Dog hospital is the oldest institution / hospital of Asia established in 1882. The dog hospital has been turned into pet centre with the up gradation of College of Veterinary Sciences, Lahore to the status of University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore in June16th 2002. Before this new set up the dog hospital has been engaged to provide indoor & outdoor treatment facilities to the dogs and cats. At present the treatment and advisory facilities have been extended to all pets animal (Dogs, cats, rabbits, monkeys, deer, pheasants, peacocks, parrots, pigeons, lions, fancy chickens and various varieties of birds). The strength of the technical staff has also been increased to cope up with the number of the patients brought to the hospital for treatment. The centre is working under the supervision of two Consultants and three teachers, specialized in this particular area. With this provision the centre is working round the clock for the welfare of the patients and convenience of the pet owners The centre has been provided with the latest equipments like Electric cautery, Portable X-ray unit, Hydraulic table, Operation light Isofluorane gas anesthesia machine and Ultra-sound machine to impart the latest information to the students and provide latest facilities to the clients.
