HEC Approved PhD Supervisor

Biography:

Dr. Sohail Raza (HEC approved PhD supervisor), is an Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology, UVAS Lahore. He is also serving as Institutional Bio-safety Officer of the university. He completed his PhD in 2016 with distinction. During PhD, he worked on the construction of gene deleted marker vaccine against Bovine Herpesvirus 1 and mechanism involve in the viral maturation and egress. Due to his contribution in this area, he has been awarded “Distinguished Research Scholar Award, Excellent Research Contribution Award and Outstanding Research Thesis Award” from government of China. He has published 09 papers in impact factor International Journals. His research focuses on the development of recombinant vaccines using trans-disciplinary approaches against prevalent diseases in Pakistan.  Currently, he is working on the production and evaluation of recombinant foot-and-mouth disease virus-like particles (vlps) for the effective control of foot-and-mouth disease in Pakistan.

Research Interest:

  • Investigate the role of viral and cellular proteins in virus infection through molecular approaches.
  • Construction and evaluation of recombinant Vaccines against prevalent diseases in Pakistan.
