Biography

Dr. Mateen Abbas, is Associate Professor, Department of Toxicology, Quality Operations Laboratory, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan holds M.Sc and Ph.D degree in Chemistry. He is also a Hafiz-i-Quran. He conducted his Ph.D degree from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. Dr. Mateen’s fundamental expertise is in the field of Mycotoxins analysis in Food & Feed, Drug residue analysis, analysis of pesticides and Analytical techniques especially HPLC, GC, GCMS, LCMS etc. He has also obtained different trainings on Instrumentations and ISO 17025 Assessor training. Dr. Mateen has 40 research papers and 38 conference proceedings. He presented research findings in different national and International conferences/symposia.

Teaching and Research:

Activities are focussed towrads 1) teaching various undergraduate and postgraduate courses along with 2) Analysis of Mycotoxins in Food & Feed using different techniques, 3) Detoxification/Degradation of Mycotoxins using natural and synthetic sources, 4) Quantification of veterinary drug residues in Food of animal origion 5) Development and validation of HPLC methods for identification of diferent analytes and 6) Identification and detoxification of pesticides in Food & Feed.
