Biography

To date Dr. Khan has more than seventeen years of job experience in research/development, quality control, teaching and research. He started his carrier as an industrial pharmacist as a quality and research operation officer, from a European R&D pharmaceutical firm Sanofi Aventis Pvt, Ltd. Pakistan, followed by a Senior Management position i.e. Manager Quality Operations, Navegal Research Lab. Pakistan where he managed to formulate and register more than 150 solid and semi solids dosage forms.  Beginning of his teaching and research career was from Island College of technology (ICT), Penang, Malaysia, which was affiliated with the leading research intensive top tire Malaysian institution i.e. Universiti Sains Malaysia. In year 2010 he joined college of clinical pharmacy, King Faisal University, as Sr. Lecturer and coordinator of clinical pharmacy department. On July 2013, he joined Discipline of Pharmacy Practice, School of Pharmaceutical Science, Monash University Malaysia as Sr. lecturer which is among the top 3 leading schools of pharmacy around the world.  After joining UVAS, he is adjunct faculty at School of Pharmaceutical Science, Monash University Malaysia, visiting faculty at Faculty of Pharmacy, University Technology Mara, Malaysia.
In addition he has also acted as a program consultant and visiting faculty at Faculty of Pharmacy, University Technology Mara, Malaysia, Al-Qassim University, Saudi Arabia and adjunct Associate Professor at Abasyn University, Pakistan. He is also the founder and Editor in Chief of “Archives of Pharmacy Practice” Journal published by Medknow Wolters Kluwer. He has been awarded “Young Scientist Membership” at “European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases”. In addition, he has also been appointed as TWAS Young affiliate for ROESEAP region [June 2015- June 2019].
His main area of research is evidence based pharmacotherapy among patients with metabolic / hormondreal disorders and patient with renal and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, he is one of the leading experts in systematic reviews and meta/network-meta analysis from the Asian region. To date he has published more three hundred research papers in ISI-cited journals with a cumulative impact factor of 450, H-index 33 and I10 index 105. He has authored various book chapters published by tier one publishers. Dr. Khan has joined UVAS in May 2018 as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and currently working as Director of the institute since April 2019.
