Biography

I am currently working as lecturer at Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS), University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore. My academic and research career spans almost 10 years and my primary interest of research are molecular synthesis, computer aided drug design, natural product and medicinal chemistry. I received my Doctorate from School of Pharmacy, Monash University Malaysia working on the project titled; Design and development of new anti-HIV agents based on quinolone Scaffolds”. During this research project I collaborated with some of the best drug research institute in the world like Rega Institute, KU Leuven, Belgium. I undertook multiple step synthesis involving complex heterocyclic chemistry. I tailored a very efficient, low-cost and eco-friendly synthetic methodology, specifically for Quinolone carboxamide synthesis. I performed cytotoxicity and anti-proliferative assays against some selected compounds. I have supervised 6 M.Phil students and trained the juniors at my PhD lab.

Areas of Interest
