Biography

Shaista Qamar is working as an Assistant professor in Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Lahore from 14th September 2009 as a permanent faculty member, Before this she was working as Senior Scientific officer/ Quality Assurance Manager in WTO QOL, UVAS, Lahore, During her stay in QOL she not only participated in ISO 17025 Lab management system i.e. self inspections and managing lab systems. Also conduct a one month workshop related to instruments covering all the aspects of International standard i.e.  Instrument qualifications and process validations. Before that she worked as a assistant Quality control manager in local and multinational industries (September 1996-January 2009) where she performed following tasks
Manage all the activities of Analytical Laboratory, Planning & Forecasting of Analytical Lab Budget according to Manufacturing Plans, Member of self-inspection team for Production, Maintenance & Material Control department, Manage the Process Validations, Method validation, Cleaning validation & Calibrations of laboratory instruments, IQ’s, OQ’s & PQ’s Designing & Execution, SOP’s generation, Manages inventories and budget Preparation of Analytical labs, Proficient in working on HPLC for Finished Goods Analysis & Trouble Shooting, Executed different physical and chemical analysis according to GLP and pharmacopoeias.

Microbiological experience

  • An experienced hand in different microbiological procedures as
  • Sterility Testing, LAL Testing, Pyrogen Testing, Product Validation (Micro) & Process Simulation Testing, Clean Room Technology & Validation, Area Monitoring & Swab Testing.

Trainer

  • Practical demonstration of different laboratory instruments & working in Q.C. Lab as per GLP to trainee Pharmacists in Pharmaceutical Industries and junior pharmacists.

Handling of different Laboratory instruments.

  • Practical experience of working on FT.I.R, I.R. analyzer & U.V.Visible Spectrophotometer, polarimeter, Rheometer, viscometer, Karl fischer titrator, Automatic dosimat, Moisture analyzer, refractometer, density-meter, GC, Centrifuge, Dissolution apparatus, disintegration apparatus, TOC analyzer, Particle counter, Air flow meter, Penetrometer, Latest HPLC models (Hitachi, Perkin Elmer, Agilent( 1100,1200,1260), Handling of stability chamber etc. and also software related  to these instruments.
