Biography

Syed Muhammad Muneeb Anjum, is a lecturer at Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS), University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. He holds Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from Islamia University Bahawalpur, M.S in Total Quality Management from University of The Punjab and Masters of Philosophy (M. Phil) degree in Pharmacology & Toxicology from UVAS. During his M.S research he designed a Quality Management system for one of country’s biggest retail chains Fazal Din’s Pharma Plus in Lahore, Pakistan. Being a professional Pharmacist he continued his quest of knowledge and during his research in M.Phil he analyzed the Effects of Cigarette Smoke Condensate and Total Particulate Matter during early embryogenesis.

He started his career in 2002 as Community Pharmacist at Fazal Din Pharma Plus and served there for almost 6 years on various positions from Pharmacy Manager to Zonal Manager and Manager Admin. During his service he remained involved in Operations and Management of pharmacy outlets, Staff Hiring and training, Procurement, Auditing, Patient counselling and drug information, human resource management, controlled drug dispensing and prescription handling etc.

He was appointed as lecturer in IPS w. e. f., October 17th, 2008 and was the part of pioneer team in the establishment of new institute. For the last five years he has been actively involved in teaching of undergraduate pharmacy students to align the undergraduate theory and practical training with the international trends in practice, research and teaching of pharmacy subjects. He is skilful in conducting research in drug and chemical toxicity, Angiogenesis and Anti-inflammatory studies. He has attended various Trainings and seminars to strengthen his intellectual ability.

  • Teaching and research in pharmacy subjects especially Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology and Toxicology
  • Screening, separation and Evaluation of various plant extracts for their Anti-Diabetic, Anti-angiogenic and Anti-inflammatory properties
  • Computer Aided drug Design
  • Teratogenic effects of commonly prescribed antibiotics
