Mr. Nadeem Zia B Pharm, R.Ph delivered a presentation to students of IPS on a topic entitled "Pharmacist’s Success in Professional Life “, dated 26-04-16. During his presentation he highlighted the key steps that are necessary to become a good, sound, successful and professionally competent pharmacist in the community as well as hospital setup. Later on, he also counselled the students about their career especially related to community and hospital pharmacy in Pakistan and Canada. His presentation was highly appreciated by Dr. Farzana Choudhry, Director IPS. Mr Khezar Hayat, Lecturer, IPS and Mr. Ammar Sarwer, Lecturer, IPS took active participation during this activity. 

Mr. Nadeem Zia is a pharmacist with the Fraser Health Authority at Surrey Memorial Hospital’s pharmacy. He completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1987 from the University of Baluchistan in Pakistan. His first position was at the Aga Khan University Hospital before moving to Saudi Arabia, where he spent 10 years working at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre. In 1998, Mr. Nadeem moved to Canada and has since held positions at multiple community pharmacies, including Walmart, London Drugs, and Zellers.

His previous positions include solution delivery consultant for the Cerner Corporation, instructor for UBC’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, trainer for the BCPhA Administration of Injections Program practical workshops, and consulting pharmacist for NZ Enterprises Inc.

Mr. Nadeem Zia was also a professional practice leader for the BC Medication Management Project from 2010 to 2012. In his current position with Fraser Health, he has been involved in a number of projects and services, including Pharmacy Anticoagulation Services and the Parenteral Nutrition Program.

Mr. Nadeem Zia has been volunteering with the Pakistani Canadian Cultural Association of BC since 2003, and is currently a board member organizing health awareness programs, and a committee member for business development
