A seminar on “Alarming Level of Antimicrobial Resistance, and Public Health Concerns” was held on 2nd of May, 2017,  in collaboration with American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and Health Security Partners (HSP). Renowned speakers, Col.,  Nassarullah Malik, (Shaukat Khannam Memorial Cancer Hospital),  Prof. Dr. Tahir Naeem, (Shalamar Hospital), Mr. Kamran Rasool, (Chaughtai Lahore Lab), Mr. Ammar Sarwar, (Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences; IPS), Ms. Rabeea Mirza, (IPS), Ms. Syeda Mahanoor, (IPS),  Ms. Qandeel Rafi, (IPS),  and Ms. Arfa Basharat, (IPS),  highlighted the global issues of antimicrobial resistance for the treatment of infectious diseases.
Two studies on antimicrobial susceptibility patterns conducted in the region of Punjab by Mr. Ammar Sarwar and the final year students of Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, UVAS were also presented.
