Report on 7th UVAS Annual Alumni Reunion 2016

7th Annual Alumni Reunion 2016 was held on 5th March 2016 at the Sports Complex in UVAS City Campus. Keeping up the traditions of distinguished UVAS family, as expected a large number of alumni and guests from all over Pakistan participated in the event. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Azam, who graduated from this historical institution in 1950 was chosen as the chief guest as being the eldest alumni in the gathering. This time a sports event between the faculty members and old alumni was also organized in the lush green ground of UVAS, which is now equipped with state of the art sports facilities. This event was enjoyable for the whole gathering and most importantly for the old alumni who at one time ruled over this ground. The worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha himself received and welcomed the guests. He in his address clearly instated the achievements of UVAS in the recent past and he also threw light on the contributions and interests shown by the alumni towards the uplifting of their Alma Mater. After that guests were presented with some extraordinary stage performances in the form of funny drama, song and poetry by the faculty members and students, which were highly appreciated by the distinguished gathering.

As a part of UVAS traditions that we don’t forget our mentors who have contributed in the uplift of the institution and country but are no longer with us, a DUA was offered for those precious assets of UVAS who left us in the last year. In the end general body elections for the Office Bearers of UVAS Alumni Association was held. The President UVAS Alumni Association Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha took oath from the newly elected members.

A souvenir containing some memorable glances of the past events was also presented to all the guests so that they could relive their older memories too. In the end, the guests were presented with a delicious dinner.

Overall the event was a complete success and another milestone in the history of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore.
