Biography

Dr. Muhammad Ijaz is Assistant Professor, Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore and holds D.V.M. (UVAS), MPhil (UVAS), Ph.D. (UVAS &USA) & Post. Doc. (USA) degrees in Veterinary Medicine. He conducted significant part of his Ph.D. research at Gluck Equine Research Centre, University of Kentucky, USA and published 05 peer-reviewed papers from that research. The title of his research is “Epidemiology, Diagnosis and Chemotherapy of Strangles in Equine”. Dr. Ijaz through his research benefited the country. He isolated 6 new SeM alleles of Streptococcus equi (including one from Pakistani strain) that will have a definite impact in solving the problem of Vaccination Failure/Immunity Breakdown against strangles. His research interests are equine and ruminant internal medicine and critical care. He has the honour of participating in number of national/international conferences/seminars and has also presented a number of research papers. Dr. Ijaz is author of more than fort five publications in high impact factor journals. He is reviewer for the national and international journals.
