Biography

Dr. Athar Mahmud, is professor of Poultry Production and is chairman, Department of Poultry Production, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. He holds Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), M.Sc. (Hons.) in Poultry Production (CVS) and Ph.D. degree in Animal Nutrition. In his PhD research he worked on, “Nutritional Evaluation of Processed Hatchery Waste Meal and its Utilization in Layers Diet.”
He was appointed as lecturer in Poultry Production in January, 1993. He was promoted to the post of Assistant Professor during 2003, Associate Professor in 2011 and Professor in 2014 in Department of Poultry Production. He remained associated with teaching and research in area of Poultry Production during his career. He taught course related to Hatchery, Poultry Housing and Environment, Recent Advances in Poultry Science, Poultry Industry of Pakistan, etc.  Eleven students earned their PhD degree and fifty-nine students earned MPhil degree under his supervision.
