Biography

Dr. Ishtiaque Ahmad has been with UVAS since 2009, and currently working as a Lecturer in the Department of Dairy Technology. He has completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Technology in 1999 and M.Sc. (Hons.) Food Technology in 2001 from National Institute of Food Science and Technology, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad–Pakistan. Dr. Ishtiaque Ahmad has earned PhD in Dairy Technology with distinction in 2019 from University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. In his Doctorate studies, he has expressed and characterized apple peel polyphenol extract, has produced probiotic milk products using these apple peel polyphenols as prebiotics and has characterized them for various microbiological and biochemical parameters. He has written three peer reviewed research papers in well-known scientific journals with good impact factor. He is also a reviewer of some notable international journals of Food Science and Nutrition domain. His area of specialization is Functional Food Products with especial emphasis on prebiotics. Dr. Ishtiaque Ahmad has around seven year’s versatile processing experience of different dairy industries of Pakistan. He was the part of the core team involved in the erection, installation and processing of pasteurized milk under the HEC funded project of “Dairy Training & Development Center” Ravi Campus, Pattoki. He is involved in teaching, research and other academic activities in the Department of Dairy Technology.
