Minister Livestock Sardar Husnain Bahadur Dareshak visits UVAS Ravi Campus Pattoki

LAHORE (10-10-18): The Minister for Livestock & Dairy Development Department Punjab Sardar Husnain Bahadur Dareshak paid a visit of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore`s Ravi Campus Pattoki. Minister visited along with Former Federal Minister for Privatization/President WWF Pakistan Altaf M Saleem and UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha in various departments of Ravi Campus Pattoki including Dairy Training and Research Center, Sheep & Goat Research Center, Zoological Museum and Fish Hatchery, Ostrich Farms, Clinics (clinical Centrum) and Foreign Faculty Hostels. They visited different section of recently established Akram Complex comprising on auditorium hall, library, cafeteria and VC office with all facilities. During visit Minister Livestock planted a sapling in front of Akram Complex.
Later, the Minister visited Central Laboratory Complex (CLC) which is comprising on different laboratories including Animal Nutrition Lab, Diagnostic lab, Genetics and Genomics lab, Leather and Fiber lab, Feed chemistry lab, Meat Technology lab, Feed Hygiene and Safety lab, Food Microstructure lab, Sensory Evaluation lab and In-vitro Embryo production lab. All the heads of the laboratories briefed minister regarding the functioning, researches, semen, food & feed analysis and services for poultry, dairy and feed industries and also for livestock farm as well.          
The aim of the Minister visit was to check the laboratories facilities and innovative research of UVAS regarding disease diagnoses, adulteration, reproduction of dairy animals, food, feed and semen analysis for the uplift of livestock sector in Punjab. He appreciated UVAS state-of-the-art disease diagnostic labs facilities, quality of education & research, dairy management training and providing clinical services for the benefit of poor farming community.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Dr Pasha said in future for the facilitation of farming community UVAS will establish a radio station. He also briefed the Minister on the UVAS academic research, dairy training & advisory services, clinical & disease diagnostic facilities, various laboratories analysis/test conducted in Central Laboratory Complex (CLC) and training programmes etc. He said UVAS laboratories are equipped with latest technology and highly trained human resource to provide the best training to university students and the latest clinical facilities to the poor farming community. During visit they also met the participants of dairy training and VC advised them to spread your knowledge among other professionals which learnt from this dairy training.
