UVAS theriogenology, surgery and medicine hospitals inaugurated at Pattoki
LAHORE (07-03-17): The clinical facilities comprising Surgery Teaching Hospital, Medicine Teaching Hospital and Theriogenology Teaching Hospital of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences have started functioning on Ravi Campus Pattoki to provide clinical services to the local poor farmers and training to university students. District Council Kasur Chairman Rana Sikandar Hayat along with Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha inaugurated all the three facilities at Block-A on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the district council chairman appreciated the clinical and extension services of the UVAS for the farming community especially of the surrounding areas of Ravi Campus. He also announced providing four vans for the UVAS to deliver extension services to the local community on their doorsteps. He lauded the community based dairy farming started by the UVAS to facilitate poor farmers of the adjoining villages of Ravi Campus Pattoki.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said that all these clinical facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and highly trained human resource to provide the best training to university students and the latest and free of cost clinical facilities to the poor farming community. He said that in near future the Ravi Campus will be hub of knowledge, research and training in Kasur district, consequently benefiting the poor people of the area. He said that all the three facilities have separate sections for large animals, small ruminants and equine. The district chairman also visited different sections of these hospitals and appreciated the latest facilities available there.
