Water Filtration Plant inaugurated at Ravi Campus Pattoki
LAHORE (02-01-17): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha inaugurated a Water Filtration Plant at Ravi Campus Pattoki, which will supply water for the residents of the campus and its nearby villages. .
The filtration plant has been completed in four month with the financial support of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), under a project named “Social Integrated Programme, Water Born Disease & Provision Clean Drinking Water”. The plant cost Rs 1,160,000/-; half of this amount has been provided by the HEC while the other half has been paid by the university itself. Earlier, the UVAS also conducted an awareness campaign in five villages surrounding the Ravi Campus to create awareness among village community and schoolchildren about clean drinking water for the disease-free healthy life.
On the occasion Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha thanked the community for supporting the university in successful completion of this project. The plant will provide safe and clean water to the Mundeki village. The local community lauded the UVAS efforts for establishing of water plant. A large number of school students, Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani and faculty members were present.
