UVAS VC Dr Pasha inaugurate state of the art epidemiology Lab at CVAS Jhang
LAHORE (10-08-17): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha along with Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Prof Dr Masood Rabbani and Director Quality Enhancement Cell Dr Hafsa Zainab visited UVAS sub campus, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences CVAS, Jhang.
On the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha inaugurated the state of the art epidemiology Lab at CVAS Jhang. He appreciated the active role of Principle CVAS Jhang Prof Dr Muhammad Younus Rana and Associate Professor Dr Iahtesham Khan on the establishment of epidemiology lab to improve the diagnostic facilities especially for the identification of brucellosis disease. The lab was established through Dr Iahtesham Khan competitive research project title “Brucellosis in Pakistan” funded by the Federal German Foreign Office. The brucellosis is highly infectious disease transfers from animals to humans mainly through unpasteurized milk and their products. This disease causes abortion in animals and humans in last trimester of pregnancy.
Earlier a detailed meeting held with CVAS faculty members and VC Dr Pasha presided over the meeting and stressed the need of their active role in improving the quality of education at CVAS, Jhang. Later they also visited the different sections and departments of CVAS and advised them for further improvement in different aspects especially in cleanliness of labs offices.
